About
Cindy Brown is an award winning photojournalist with 25 years experience at major newspapers like the St. Petersburg Times
and the Indianapolis Star. Her list of international awards includes Pictures of the Year International, the Southern Short Course, Wedding Photojournalist Association, the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar and the Women in Photojournalism Conference.
Her engaging people skills were honed while she was professor of photojournalism at the University of Southern Mississippi, Florida Southern and St.-Mary-of the-Woods College. Now, with her masters of divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Cindy uses her life experiences to deliver the fine art of storytelling.
“I am just as passionate about listening to and telling people’s stories. For me photography is a spiritual experience. It is life enriching. It brings me closer to the divine creativity within.” Cindy
When she’s not behind the camera, Cindy can be found playing with her dog, agitating for social change, enjoying the outdoors, perfecting her wedding album design and personal documentary projects and on the road to Mississippi and California to visit her three beautiful grandsons.
