I photographed a biker funeral, death penalty protests andTed Bundy while interning with the Associated Press.

While a photographer for two dailies in Florida, I photographed Ronald Reagan, a train derailment and the dedication of a screened-in porch.

An unexpected life turn took me to Vermont where I fell in love with Bernie Sanders and on to Indiana, where I edited photos for a major daily, and nerded out getting a master’s and PhD.

After teaching photojournalism at colleges and universities in Florida, Indiana and Mississippi, I returned to Atlanta to earn myfifth degree--a Master's of Divinity.

My passion for storytelling with my camera and my interest in religious diversity led my to the field of wedding photojournalism.

I have documented weddings large and small, Unitarian and Pagan, indoors and out, Christian and Muslim, in backyards and in churches. The most exotic wedding I have photographed took place in Mexico and was officiated by aMayan shaman.

When I'm not photographing weddings, portraits or corporate events, I work on personal photo projects, visit friends in amemory-care home, and volunteer at a recovery center.

Atlanta Portrait Photographer: Payne Corley House Sip and See

A couple of weeks ago, my partner and I decided to take the folks at the Payne-Corley House in Duluth up on their invitation to come and Sip and See. That particular Saturday afternoon was absolutely gorgeous and afforded us the opportunity to see all sorts of blooming flowers on the property.

The Payne-Corley house, built around 1870, is the oldest standing home in the city of Duluth. It was built as a farmhouse when Duluth was known as "Howell's Crossing." (This is nothing like the three-room farmhouse where my Mom grew up.) Entering the home from the side entrance, we were greeted with this lovely painted porch, one of my favorite parts of the home.

Upon entering the home, we found a lovely assortment of hors d'oevres and desserts displayed. I waited to indulge in the scrumptious chocolate ganache, until after I had tasted some awesome crab cakes and a to-die-for summer gazpacho.

I photographed Tom and Shari's lovely backyard wedding a couple of weekends ago in Alpharetta, GA. Their friend Jan offered her lovely yard for the ceremony and celebration. Friends and family witnessed a touching union of two committed Christians. And then everyone had lots of fun dancing and enjoying wonderful food and drink. The Next Cool Thing Event Fundraiser for the Georgia Production Partnership

On Saturday evening my partner and I attended The Next Cool Thing Event, thanks to my new networking friend David Fritsch. The event, which took place in a 90,000 square-foot warehouse, was a fundraiser for the Georgia Production Partnership designed to promote networking among professionals in the film & TV, entertainment, design, performing arts and event industries. I spent much of the night eating the wonderful food fare available there ... kudos to the crab cakes from Six Feet Under. But I was able to take a few photos, as well. Here are a few of my favorite images from the night.
