I was delighted to learn today that the Grammy Award-winning Indigo Girls, both Emory alums, will be playing on September 25 as part of the And the concert is free.

I hope I get to see one of my favorite profs from my Candler years, Don Saliers -- Emily's Dad.

River Rafting With My Grandson Michael

My grandson Michael has come from California to visit with us for a week. We took him to the mountains for the last few days. We went tubing on the 'Hooch in Helen, Georgia on Sunday. But the highlight of the trip so far has been our rafting trip on the Nantahala. Here's a wonderful photo of our trip over the falls at the end of the run.

I'm in the back of the boat on the left just in front of our awesome guide Cory Glenn. My grandson Michael is in the front right. And my second shooter Sharon is in the back right.

I've been down the river three times with Carolina Outfitters now and this was by far the best trip yet. Thanks, Cory. Hope the tip check doesn't bounce :)
