Building the Pupparazzi (and Catmandoo) Portfolio

I've decided that I love taking day-in-the-life approach to pet portraits enough to create a gallery of images to show off my work. If you'd like to meet me at a dog park not too far from Pine Lake, I'll be happy to add your pet children to my portfolio (and give you the opportunity to buy the images you love.) April ISES Meeting at The Rental Place in Alpharetta

This month's ISES event took place at The Rental Place in Alpharetta. If you think a Rental Place is an odd place for a networking meeting, think again. Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to take a look around the showroom floor filled with table, chairs, linens, serving trays, sculptures in the shape of musicians, lights, ..... etc. etc. (I can't tell you how many different items perfect for entertaining they had on their showroom floor.) In addition, two tents were set up behind the showroom -- one for the meeting, with flavorful food from Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q and one for the Iron Table Design Contest that was the highlight of the evening.

Georgia Tech Conference Center: More Than Just a Corporate Venue

I'm excited to share several photos from the Georgia Tech Conference Center I took a couple of weeks ago. Tim Barrett, my ISES pal, was kind enough to take me on a tour of the place, which has been recently remodeled. The Center hosts quite a few corporate events, but is also available for weddings. In addition to getting to see a lot of what the venue has to offer in the way of space, Tim also treated me to a lovely buffet meal in the conference center dining room. I had a veggie pot pie that was quite yummy. (Can't go wrong with okra as a main ingredient. Right, Tim?)

Randi and Kris' Engagement Safari | Piedmont Park

Sharon and I were thrilled to join Randi and Kris on their engagement safari in Piedmont Park last week. They brought three pups, two friends, their wedding planner and her daughter. We were an entourage for the first 10 or 15 minutes. Then we left the three pups at the dog park with the two friends and headed into the park. As soon as Senoirea from Beyond the Diamond Event Planning and Consultancy checked to see we were OK, Sharon and I were left to work our photo magic with Randi and Kris. Madison Georgia Wedding Venue Variety Works Holds Open House

This past Sunday afternoon the folks at Variety Works welcomed guests to their recently opened rustic wedding venue. The space is perfect for the couple looking for something beyond the norm. Here's what Diane Lively of the Morgan County Post wrote about the space:

"Big news! The Variety Works, owned by Jane and Everett Royal and located in the Madison Markets campus behind Tequila Express, has been transformed y’all! I’m talkin’ it is now one of the area’s most beautiful event and wedding venues! Honey, Momma and I crashed the first weddin’ there on Saturday night to check it all out and it is flat unbelievable! OK so Variety Works has about 5,000 square feet downstairs and 2,200 upstairs and it has been completely remodeled! Plus, this space creates a historic, rustic atmosphere that you just can’t get in any other location!"

I was lucky enough to meet Diane at the open house. She was taking photos for the newspaper. I was takin' photos for my blog (and for the Royal's. Everett is charming.)

Foxhall's Legacy Lookout - Spectacular Atlanta Wedding Venue

I had the pleasure of heading south from Atlanta a few weeks back for a tour of Legacy Lookout Pavilion club, Foxhall Sporting Club's premier event venue. What an awesome space. (You'll see below.) It overlooks Legacy Lake, the Equestrian Paddocks, and the Chattahoochee River. The space looked great empty, but I wanted to see if full of people. And I was lucky enough a week or so later to be invited to return to take a few photos for the folks at Foxhall while an event was taking place in the hall. The space came to life with people, food and dancing and that amazing view.

According to folks at Foxhall, the Legacy Lookout Club Pavilion can comfortably seat 350 people. If you need to accommodate more, there's lots of room for tents on the property. (I've seen a tent that could hold 5,000 set up on the grounds. I can't imagine a wedding that large, but ...)

Other key features of the Legacy Lookout Club Pavilion include four well-appointed restrooms, a very nice bridal changing room, and a catering kitchen

Erica and Jason's Marietta Square Engagement Safari

Had a delightful time with Erica and Jason in Marietta Square a couple of weekends ago on an engagement safari. We were in search of photos that would capture the essence of their relationship. Here's what Erica wrote when she saw the photos:

"Oh my goodness. Wow. I'm blown away. What a fun slideshow! It had me smiling from the very beginning, and even laughing! Every picture just seems to be bursting with how much we enjoy each other. It is so stunningly different from other engagement photo sessions I've seen; so much more natural. What a great style. You really captured Jason like no one else has. I am absolutely beyond delighted."
