Atlanta Wedding Venue | Melia Hotel

Recently I was invited by Crickett Russell, Social Catering Manager, to tour the venue spaces at the Melia Hotel. I was surprised to learn that Melia Hotels is one of the top 20 hotel companies in the world, with more than 350 hotels in 35 countries. The hotel in Atlanta is located at 590 West Peachtree Street NW in the heart of midtown. With more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space and upwards of 20 meeting rooms, the hotel is a great place for weddings, b'not mitzvahs, quinceaneras and other social events, as well as corporate events.

Unique to the Melia in Atlanta is SKY twenty.five, a spectacular event space occupying the entire top floor of the hotel with floor-to-ceiling windows providing breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlanta skyline. The space can hold up to 350 people.

Ralph and Terry's Fun-Filled Sandy Springs Wedding

What a delightful time the bride, groom, and wedding guests had at Ralph and Terry's intimate Sandy Springs wedding. The celebration took place at their home and was officiated by Ralph's daughter, Alexis. Family from Jamaica and friends from UPS filled the living room and dining room. Dancing began when the groom came down the aisle and continued into the evening. Here are few favorites from the evening:

3109 Piedmont Estate and Gardens | Atlanta Wedding Venue

Tony Conway and the crew at A Legendary Event have taken one of Buckhead's fine dining establishments, Anthony's Restaurant, and turned it into a breathtaking "Legendary" wedding and event venue. Situated on a park-like 3 acres just off of Piedmont Road, the antebellum home built in 1797, has a storied history. The house was moved from its original home in Washington, GA in 1967 and reassembled and renovated at its present location in Buckhead. The estate now features beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces, including manicured gardens, rooms with original fireplaces, two bars, and an awesome ballroom capable of seating 175.

Andrew Dickens, Associate Account Manager at A Legendary Event, was kind enough to take me on a private tour of the gorgeous old home turned celebration central. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the tour.

Academy of Medicine Wedding | Saed and Nat

What a wedding and dance party! Saed and Nate, friends and family gathered at the stately The Historic Academy of Medicine for a delightful ceremony and reception. Before the wedding they said their vision of their wedding included a "fun, laid-back, but elegant" ceremony, that would "turn into a dance party!" And that is just what they got. Two minor faux pauxs occurred. One of Saed's bridesmaids bought the wrong color dress. Thankfully, the maid of honor was able to wear the dress, which set her apart from the other bridesmaids and seemed natural to those at the wedding. The groom ordered six bowties for his six groomsmen -- and forgot to order one for himself. Two groomsmen made a last minute visit to a department store and returned with a bow tie for the groom that was just a tad lighter than the groomsmen's ties. Everything else about the wedding went off without a hitch.

One of their friends made the delectable cake decorated with cream-colored flowers. Saed and bridemaids carried flowers with fiddlehead ferns (my favorite) designed by "On Occasions of Atlanta." The folks at "Proof of the Pudding" provided the savory salads, entrees and side dishes. The staff from the Academy of Medicine made sure everything went off without a hitch.

Our new friends Nicole and Bryan from Fuzions Media have been working on this video for us for a couple of months now. Thanks to our clients Erica and Jason for agreeing to take a Saturday afternoon to help us with the project. Erica and Jason you are the best! In case you're wondering, Erica and Jason found us through Weddingwire. They got married at Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta last year.
