Nav and Kathryn's Winn Park/High Museum Engagement Session

Nav and Kathryn say they’re “cut from the same cloth” and “bring out the best in each other.”

What more can you ask for in a life partner?

Knowing how Nav and Kathryn felt about each other, Kathryn’s family helped Nav set up a surprise engagement near a cabin in the mountains. “They set up a beautiful tent hidden in the woods with fake fur blankets on the ground, and lights strung along a path,” says Kathryn.

Josh and Colleen's Pine Lake Engagement Session

One of our favorite locations for engagement sessions is our tiny burg, Pine Lake. It's especially nice in the fall when the leaves are changing colors.

Josh and Colleen brought their two pooches with them for their shoot and we headed to the berm by the lake where the leaves were especially vivid.

Like most couples, Josh and Colleen were a little concerned about having a camera pointed at them for an hour or so. My job was to make them feel comfortable.

So, as usual, my fall back tool was humor.

I don't even remember how I got them to laugh, or if they made each other laugh.

Either way, the laughter, as usual, made for the best photographs.

Engagement Session Fun at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens

We were delighted when Irene and Travis chose us to take their engagement portraits. They were hell bent on having the photo taken at the Botanical Gardens, and we were hell bent on making that happen for them.

Their first date was at the gardens. Following their visit to the gardens they ate at the restaurant on the grounds. They had to wait two hours, because they hadn't made reservations in advance. Waiting for the table just gave them the chance to get to know each other better.

You can see in these photos that spending a little extra time together paid off well for both of them.

Tatiana and Jay's Mini Engagement Session in Pine Lake

We've been running a mini engagement session special for those who come to us for the shoot. We live in Pine Lake, a quirky neighborhood full of artists and musicians. Most folks from Atlanta, even those who have lived here forever, have never heard of our little burg, which is sad because Pine Lake rocks. We love it, because of its offbeat, laid back, artsy, neighborly flavor as well as its natural beauty.
